SNV (Skilled Nurse Visits)

Logging as-needed skilled nursing visits

What is an SNV?

SNV (Skilled Nurse Visit) is an as-needed visit type for patients authorized to receive skilled nursing services. Unlike regular visits that follow a weekly schedule, SNV visits can happen on any day.

SNV uses one of four billing codes:

CodeDescription
T1002RN services, up to 15 minutes
G0299Skilled nursing, home, per visit
T1003LPN/LVN services, up to 15 minutes
G0300Skilled nursing, home, per visit (LPN)

How SNV Differs from Regular Visits

  • No weekly schedule — SNV visits are not assigned to specific days of the week. They can occur on any day.
  • Not shown in the calendar header — Since they're as-needed, SNV billing codes don't appear in the day-of-week header pills.
  • Shown in the patient info panel — The SNV billing code does appear under "Billing Codes" so you can see the patient has it scheduled.
  • Requires schedule — A patient must have an active SNV schedule before visits can be logged. See Managing Schedules for setup.

Logging an SNV Visit

  1. Click a day on the calendar to open the day detail panel
  2. Click the "+ Add Visit" button
  3. Select the SNV code (e.g., "SNV (T1002)") from the menu
  4. The units field will pre-fill with the scheduled amount — adjust if needed
  5. Select a caregiver from the dropdown
  6. Click "Save Units" to log the visit
Log an SNV by selecting the date and clicking the "+ Add Visit" button

SNV visits are saved alongside any other visits being logged on the same day. They follow the same billing lifecycle as regular visits — logged, billed, paid.

Over-Schedule Warning

If you enter more units than the patient is scheduled for, a red warning will appear below the row. The visit can still be saved, but the warning helps catch data entry errors.

For Billers

SNV visits appear as regular logged line items in the day detail panel. Mark them as billed the same way you would any other visit — no special handling is needed.

Setting Up SNV Schedule

SNV schedules are managed by the Authorizations role. See Managing Schedules for how to add one — there is no separate button, the form recognises an SNV billing code as you type it.
